Intern Positions

Development Intern

Time Commitment: Weekly commitment, minimum 10 hours per week

Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), strong organizational and listening skills, phone experience, ability to work independently, interest in general marketing and communications, willing to accept a variety of tasks, positive attitude

Responsibilities:

1. Assists development coordinator in the production of major special events (involves telephone communications, assisting in meeting planning and set-up. This includes preparing press releases, PSA’s, and volunteer coordination)

2. Solicitation of in-kind donations and services for events

3. Assists in the production of printed publications, writes copy for informational materials such as newsletters, bulletins, pamphlets, and posters, and website updates

Wish Granting Interns

Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, assertiveness, strong verbal and written skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, organizational skills and ability to prioritize, problem solving and creativity, strong attention to detail and deadlines

Responsibilities:

1. Performs wish request intakes

2. Medically verifies prospective Wish Recipients

3. Assists wish granters with the planning and implementation of wishes

4. Researches and assists in solicitation of corporations to provide in-kind goods and services for wishes

5. Assists with file close-out, wish budget, and wish evaluation

6. Attends weekly program meetings and monthly supervision

7. Maintains data and database on all aspects of wish and Wish Recipient

8. Assists in maintaining statistics within the wish database

9. Writes wish related press releases

10. Researches media outlets and distributes press releases

Fairygodmother Foundation's Board of Directors provides governance, thoughtful oversight, strategic guidance, and vital fundraising efforts. Board members represent an array of professional disciplines and industries.

Presently we are seeking individuals from the following areas: Law, Banking, Graphic Design, Hospitality, Accounting(CPA), and Public Relations.
